I would say there is some resemblance :) Their rolls are hilarious!
2 Month Stats:
We had your two month check up last week. You are as healthy as can be. You weigh 12 lbs 15 ounces and are 23 inches long. You are a little above the 50th percentile. You are so much bigger than both of your sisters were. You are doing much better sleeping at night. Last night you went 8 hours straight! However, I am letting you sleep on your stomach. Which makes me nervous but you sleep so much better that way. You can lift your head up while on your belly and have even flipped over to your back twice while sleeping.
You are an excellent napper, which makes working from home much easier. You take a good 3 hour nap in the morning and afternoon. I am soaking up every moment I can with you since you start day care in 2 weeks :(
We celebrated Reagan’s 2nd birthday on Saturday. We had the party at my parents house. They have a huge backyard, play house and tire swing. As well as they live right next door to the neighborhood pool. It was the perfect location. The party consisted of a lot of good food, friends and family. The kids played all afternoon in the backyard and swimming pool. I attempted to make Reagan’s cake. It was a cupcake cake made into the shape of a catapillar. The head would not stay no matter how many toothpicks I put in it. It was fun to make though. Reagan had so much fun. We stayed late into the afternoon playing with all of her new toys. All three of my kidos were asleep before we even got out the neighborhood.
Where did your neck go?!
1 month stats:
You are growing like a weed little man. At your 1 month appointment you weighed 10.2 lbs and 21 inches. You went from the 25th percentile to the 75th for weight. 3 lbs in one month, not bad!!!
Your sleep patterns are all over the place. Some nights you sleep in 4-5 hour stretches and some nights only 2 hours. Luckily I am still on maternity leave so we nap it up during the day after the long nights.
You look more and more like your sister Olivia. You are such a sweet baby and I am having way too much fun spending all day with you. I’m already getting sad about having to go back to work.
Meet the boy version of Olivia. They definitely resemble each other. Isaac had his first real bath today. He enjoyed it. He is such a sweet baby and we are having SO much fun snuggling and napping all day :)
I love that it is warm enough to sit outside and have Popsicles after dinner.
Birth Story!
Isaac joined our family on March 6th at 10:00pm. His birth went pretty smoothly. I had a doctor’s appointment Tuesday morning. I had my doctor check me and was a little discouraged when I had only progressed a little. I was a little under 2 centimeters dilated. After my appointment I headed into work as usual. As soon as I got there I started to get contractions around every 10 minutes. By lunch time they were still coming steadily every 10 minutes so I headed home just in case this was the real deal. I did not want to get stuck at work in full blown labor. I kept thinking that it was false labor and was waiting for it to stop. When I got home I prepared as if it was the real thing. I tried to stay busy and cleaned the house and and made sure all the laundry was done. I made arrangements for the girls just in case and let Steve know that this could possibly be the day! By 4:00 my contractions were between 4-5 minutes. I called my doctor and they said to come in. I still had this fear that I was going to get sent home so I waited until 6:00 and then we headed in. I was in a fair amount of pain by this point in time. Once we got to the hospital they checked me into triage and checked my cervix. I was only at a whopping 2 1/2 centimeters and they would not admit me. I was starting to relive Reagan’s birth all over again. I just KNEW that I was not going to get my epidural in time just like Reagan. By this point I knew I was in full labor and was just waiting for my cervix to catch up with the contractions I was experiencing. We decided that I would walk for an hour and than recheck me. So I began pacing around the halls. Steve was having horrible stomach issues so was in the bathroom most of the time. So I was pacing by myself. It was also tour night on the L&D floor so there were large groups of people every where. NOT a fun experience. I think I scared a lot of the pregnant woman that were there touring. I decided to walk the last 20 minutes in my small room pacing back and forth.
Finally an hour passed by and it was time to check me again. But once again I was only 2 1/2 centimeters and I needed to be at least 4 cm to admit me. At this point I broke down. I know my body and I knew I was in labor. Luckily I had the most AMAZING nurse who was completely on board with what I wanted. She told my doctor my progress and got permission to go ahead and start my lab work so that when it was time to admit me I would be all set for my epidural. At this point I was hooked up to the monitor and began to have contractions every 2 minutes. The baby did not like this and his heart beat began to decel. As, soon as my doctor saw this he immediatly admited me and ordered my epidural. THANK GOD!!!
They got me all set up in my room and what seemed like an eternity the anesthesiologist finally showed up. It was 8:30 by this time. I think the hardest part was contracting every 2 minutes while sitting up and trying to sit still while they put the epidural in. I am surprised Steve doesn’t have a broken hand. The meds kicked in fast and in 15 minutes I was completely numb and feeling SOOO much better. Modern medicine is amazing!!!! The doctor checked me and I was at 8 centimeters and he accidentally broke my water just by checking me. So I went from 2 centimeters to 8 in 2 1/2 hours. I tried to tell them that I was in labor!!! I can’t imagine if they would of sent me home.
My Mom was in the area and knew that we had gone to the hospital but didn’t know how far along we were so she stopped by just to check in. She got there at the perfect time. I was feeling good and was progressing nicely by this point. Steve and I decided to let her stay in the room with us for the delivery. We have always kept it just us but I knew that she had always wanted to be a part of one of her grand kids deliveries. She was awesome! Didn’t over step her boundaries but was part of our amazing miracle.
By 9:45 I felt some pressure and was ready to push. The nurse checked me and I was 10 centimeters. My doctor was delivering another baby and the moment and since I was not in any pain there was no hurry to start pushing. So, we let the contractions bring the baby down a little futher while the doctor finished up next store. He got there around 9:55 a push and half later lil Isaac was out! His cord was tightly wrapped around his neck so I pushed his head out and the doctor cut the cord and then pushed him the rest of the way out. This was the easiest part of labor. By your third baby they just slide right out :)
They put him right up on my chest and he immediately peed all over me. I think he did it just to remind me that he is a boy and is going to be completely different then the girls! He weighed 6lbs 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. My biggest baby of all three. After he came out I looked at Steve and asked what his name was?? We had narrowed it down between Cooper and Grayson as first names but he just didn’t look like either. We knew wanted to use Isaac as a middle name and decided that he just looked more like an Isaac than a Cooper or a Grayson. So, that’s what he is… Isaac Cooper Murphy.
He was having a little trouble breathing at first because he had some gunk in his longs so he they took him to the nursery for about an hour. By the time I got cleaned up and settled in my new room he was already back. He is beautiful and perfect and we could not be any happier. When I first got pregnant I couldn’t help but think that it was not a good time to have another baby but looking at this sweet baby boy I know that he is meant to be here and could not imagine life without him.
I am enjoying every minute of my maternity leave, snuggling and loving on this baby all day long. So far he has been a dream. The girls have been amazing with him. I can’t believe how quickly my family has grown to FIVE!!!!
38 Weeks!!!
I feel like a ticking time bomb. The waiting is so hard!! I keep telling myself that two weeks is really not that long but yet it feels like forever. In the last couple days I have started getting random contractions. Nothing too painful or long but enough to make me stop and notice. I had tons of false labor with Reagan so I am trying not to read too far into it. I know he will be here when he is good and ready, but when will that be?!? haha
I am starting to swell. I definitely have the preggo face but other than that I really can’t complain. I have been working from home a lot more, which has been awesome!! My parents and sister-in-law are going out of town this weekend, which probably means he will make his arrival then. They were both out of town when Olivia was born as well. The good news is the weather has been absolutely beautiful so the whole family has been going on evening walks. The girls love it. Reagan brings her Thomas the Train flash light and Olivia has her big girl flash light that she feels so important carrying.
So here I am waiting patiently for lil man to arrive. I will keep you all posted.
We are using the same car seat we have used with the girls but it definitely needed some sprucing up. My brother and sister-in-law gave me a gift card to destination maternity for my birthday when I went and used it I got this AWESOME bag of coupons. One of the coupons was for a new car seat cover. It finally came today and it is awesome!! It has a cover, headrest, new umbrella piece, blanket and cover that goes over the top. $40 bucks for all of this (including shipping)!! I am very impressed.
I would not be true to myself if I did not write today about the subject that is front and center on my heart. Today is May...
